Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until the ingredients are evenly distributed. - Add the Wet Ingredients:
Gradually add the plain Greek yogurt and warm water to the dry mixture. Stir with a spoon or spatula until the dough begins to come together. - Knead the Dough:
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough feels too sticky, add a bit more flour. - Divide and Rest:
Once kneaded, divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Shape each piece into a small ball. Cover them with a clean kitchen towel and allow them to rest for 15 minutes. This resting period helps the dough relax, making it easier to roll out. - Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant but not browned. Remove the garlic butter from heat and set aside. - Roll Out the Flatbreads:
On a lightly floured surface, roll each dough ball into a circle about 1/4 inch thick. You can make them slightly thinner or thicker depending on your preference. - Cook the Flatbreads:
Heat a non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown spots appear and the bread puffs up slightly. Flip and cook the other side. Repeat with all pieces of dough. - Brush with Garlic Butter:
Once each flatbread is cooked, immediately brush it with the prepared garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley for a fresh, vibrant finish.
Notes
- Storage: Store leftover flatbreads in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. To reheat, simply warm them in the oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes or in a skillet over low heat.
- Freeze for Later: You can freeze the cooked flatbreads for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw at room temperature and warm in the oven or skillet.
- Add Extra Herbs: For more flavor, try adding chopped rosemary, thyme, or oregano to the dough before cooking.
