A Unique Take on Traditional Lasagna with Chicken


9 lasagna noodles
2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups ricotta or cottage cheese
3/4 cup sour cream
1 (15 ounce) jar alfredo sauce
1 (15 ounce) can chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish


Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and lay flat to cool.
In a medium bowl, mix together shredded chicken, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and 1 cup of alfredo sauce.
In another bowl, combine ricotta or cottage cheese and sour cream.
In a lightly greased 9×13 baking dish, layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the chicken mixture, half of the ricotta mixture, and 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
Repeat layers.
Top with the remaining 3 lasagna noodles, and pour the remaining alfredo sauce and chicken broth over the top.
Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.
Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting and serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
