Indulge in the Famous Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Cooked pasta or rice, for serving

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet.
Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the white wine, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet.
Simmer the sauce for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the sauce to coat evenly.
Cook for an additional minute to heat the shrimp through.
Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the shrimp scampi.
Serve the Famous Red Lobster Shrimp Scampi over cooked pasta or rice.
