Cinnamon Swirl Donut Bread

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter using a knife.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. While the bread is cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled Cinnamon Swirl Donut Bread.
  13. Slice and enjoy the irresistible combination of cinnamon, sugar, and moist bread!
