Chocolate Kahlúa Cake with Buttercream Frosting

 

Preparation Steps:

For the Chocolate Kahlúa Cake:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, brewed coffee, Kahlúa, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Buttercream Frosting: 7. In a bowl, beat softened butter until creamy.

  1. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until well incorporated.
  2. Add Kahlúa, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.

Assembly: 10. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of buttercream over the top.

  1. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining buttercream.
