  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For the Pastry:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For Dusting:

  • Powdered sugar (optional)

Preparation Steps:

  1. In a saucepan, combine diced fruit, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is tender and the sugars have melted.
  3. Stir in butter until melted and well combined. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

  6. In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the pies until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
